Land Drain
The above photo shows the outflow from a land drain I put in the garden during the summer. Plagued by waterlogging, I decided to sink a drain along the bottom of a "shelf" in the garden. I left the outflow open and decided that if ever the water came out of the pipe, I would then worry about getting the excess across the patio. It's time to worry! I reckon I will run an open channel along the edge of the paving and into an existing drain. Job for another day.

Not much chance of wading across the ford today. Way back in the '80s, I think it was, a cloudburst took the level up to doors of the houses and lifted two of the other bridges off their pillars.

Richard's Refreshment Review: Wycoller Cafe , We are frequent visitors. The cafe is closed during the weekend of 23rd/24th October, maybe the break will do them all good.
